Ever since he gave in and accepted the Crown, ghosts have reacted differently to Danny. Not much differently, but he can tell that his words have a bit more… weight to them. Some part of them is forced to heed his words.

The effect doesn’t stick around though. As long as he doesn’t speak forcefully, they move on with barely more than a brief twitch in response. And even if he does command them, they can still disregard his orders without too much difficulty.

But what he didn’t realize was how biased that sample was. The only ghosts he ever really closely interacted with were decently powerful ones. Even the weaker ones that appeared in Amity like Boxy were still above average compared to most other ghosts.

Then he went to Gotham.

And it turns out that to a malformed revenant, his influence is a lot stronger than Danny ever realized or expected.

Jason can’t get this random guy’s words out of his head. Something deep within his soul is demanding that he needs to follow them. And he has no idea why.

Could this be part of a strange plot by the Mad Hatter or Black Mask?

the way the lumon logo appears around them is so chilling... like they're somehow making it seem like this was sanctioned or even encouraged by lumon when we know for a fact it wasn't. lumon taking credit for every shred of genuine connection its employees have when in reality they have been fighting lumon directly for the right to make those connections this whole time!! lumon has worked to dissuade the innies from fraternising at every turn because employees who care for each other more than they do the company become ungovernable AS WE LITERALLY SAW IN THE S1 FINALE and they somehow STILL manage to turn this around and sanitise this very clear act of revolution into something that continues to uphold the system. there is no part of the innies lumon cannot claim for themselves, not even their defiance!!!

came across this thread earlier and it’s honestly becoming my preferred interpretation of the whole “they stole 93% of caleb’s brain and he’s locked away the last 7% for us” thing

i’ll have to read about it more but if the chip’s “integrity” has decreased from 100 to 93 percent—if it’s decreasing the longer it’s in caleb’s brain from a combo of his resolve/strength/evol—then does that mean the more he fights it, the lower its integrity gets? that he has a chance at overcoming it?

idk i’m imagining mc taking him on like a chip eradication tour on something where we spend so much time together and shower him with so much love and nostalgia that one day it just combusts (painlessly). and he’s free. dramatic jailbreak scene

idk if this is viable obviously but it’s just so nice to be optimistic about his story for once. instead of the chip being a bomb that was placed into caleb it’s that the chip was placed into a bomb (caleb)
